I recently received a wonderful gift. It is so treasured that it would probably be the first thing I would save should my house go on fire.

This precious gift is Isabel Toledo's Book: Fashion From The Inside Out.

This book means so much to me, not only because she is one of the greatest fashion designers of our time but also because she has an independant and thoughtful approach to design. Her talent is unquestionable and she is a true inspiration.

In my quest to discover more about her I found these wonderful images taken in her studio by Michael Mundy.

P. So true...it is incredible how they still seem to be hidden for the general fashion radar (and that is despite Obama's endorsement)...but I guess Alaia would be a similar case...incredible talents who are silently working away.
