The past few months have been wonderfully chaotic. My life has been taken over by exciting commissions and projects which are in the making and yet to be made. I have felt an overwhelming guilt that this blog has taken a back seat in the priorities of life and that I must explain my rather infrequent posting. I am still quietly visiting all my virtual friends and I try to say hello when I can.

But it has been very hard to keep up with the dedication required to be  part of this online community. My brain is in need of as much quiet time as it can get, as it is in over drive with ideas for my 'non virtual' activities.

I hope life will get back to some normality in the next few months and my posting will become as  dedicated as is has been since I started in September last year.

I miss you all but will be back every now and then..have a lovely summer!

The Salt Desert by Geman Collins

A few months ago I received a phone call offering me the opportunity to be part of a shoot in the Salt Desert. It was one of those very unusual occasions, similar to getting the invitation to the Mc Queen show last October, where  a few weeks before I had mentioned to a friend my wish for this to happen,... but I never ever ever dreamed it would.

German Collins,  photographer originally from Argentina and now based in Ireland, pooled a group of Irish designers and resources to make this shoot a reality. With very little time and many elements against him. ..including distance and altitude...he managed to come back with this wonderful shoot which was featured by Constance Harris in the Independent yesterday.

I have never met, in person, the victim of this post. As I write this I really can't believe it though. Christine Lucignano has become so familiar throughout the years. She works closely with many of my friends and was such a sweetheart when I called her five years ago asking for help on my first shoot. Such an example of how one phone call can encourage or discourage a newcomer, and I will be always grateful for her kind words and patience, whilst she was probably paying huge roaming  charges from her Swiss shoot location.

Self described as a mad Aquarian who must paint faces in order to breathe. She has travelled all around the world doing it for 27 years and will not stop until her last dying breath.

Her popularity in the industry is proof of what an incredibly talented professional she is. I can't wait to work with her someday, and I have a feeling it will be sooner rather than later... ; )
