Yesterday I had the opporunity to see Irish designer Alison Conneely's new collection.

 Incredibly beautiful, she has managed to translate her unique aestetics into a selection of pieces with intricate detailing and sharp tailoring that I'm sure people will queue up for.

The collection has been snapped up by one of Irelands leading stores... I know there will be many more to follow.

The future looks promising

To pigeon hole Agata  Stoinska solely as a photographer would not do her justice. Not only is she one of our top photographers, she has also become a force and facilitator of a whole artisitc and creative community.

Ireland is very lucky to have adopted her and the results of her efforts are intangible and will leave a legacy of great work from current and future artists who have been able to express themsleves thanks to her vision and support .

This is one of my favourite shoots she's done..

Numbers and celebrations..one year on!

More than a year and a half ago, my friend Helen James and I started talking about doing a blog. It was exactly a year, this month, that I started blogging.

This is post number 200.

I really can't explain what having a blog has meant to me, and how it has changed my life. With 10,000 views a month...it has opened a whole new world, which I can't imagine doing without.

Living as a designer in Ireland, with all the magic that it has, it's also very secluded and isolated.

Being alone, or feeling alone, is just part of the business...

Certainly for someone who has always been considered a foreigner or outsider no matter where I was living...the blog has connected  me with like minded people and with some, who a year ago , I  would have never imagined having access too.

It has also brought me closer to people in the 'real' world...being vocal and open, has made others realise it's OK to feel and to fear, to have insecurities  and to have an opinion...

The blog has also helped me be public about my admiration for those  who I care about, writing dozens of  'love letters' to thank them for their influence.

It has also helped me overcome extreme shyness about showcasing my work, a  'publish' click is easier than a phone call!. And has also helped over come my fear of writing in English.

Thank you so much dropping by, it has been a great year...!

 A month and half from Paris Fashion Week

..still undecided about showing or not...

This is a wish list of shops I would like to see stock my collection in the next seasons.

 Fortunately seven of the shops mentioned have or have had the collection for several seasons.

 I have decided to included them as they would have been part of my  list 5 years ago

...and still are an important part of my dream!

Dream girl hits the Big Apple!

I went through my emails to search for a chain of messages sent to a modelling agency in 2008. Back then, I had chosen a drop dead GORGEOUS girl to feature in my next shoot and couldn't remember why it never happened. Unfortunately after many emails it was not meant to be , and the condition that I couldn't use the images as part of my web archive after 6 months broke the deal, a clause which I still find hard to understand...specially as one shoots the collection 6 months before it even hits the shops!!..

She has still remained one of my favourite girls in the industry...here and abroad..and I WILL work with her someday.......pretty PLEEEEEEEASE UNIVERSE????

The girl in question is Faye Dinsmore...just back from Paris Couture week where she has left them all speechless..she packed her bags again and is now settled across the ocean where she will rock New York Fashion Week next month...

Spread the word...the girl is in town!!!!

Wendy Bevan, whom I've featured here and here before. Is one of my favourite photographers on earth. I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I saw the fashion editiorial of  How to Spend It (FT) which was brilliantly styled by Damian Foxe. 

Tasteful and timeless I wish we would see more of this in our press....

Am I asking for too much..??.... maybe... but it's worth a try..

Submerge

I have spent the past few weeks producing pieces for a project I have been working on with Aisling Farinella. We spent the whole day, yesterday, with a team of 8 talented creatives making one of my dreams come true.....now the project is in hands of other talented professionals.

Fingers crossed, in September, I will have something to share with you.

I met Aisling 5 years ago when she was asked to style my collection for the Independant. We have worked together in many projects ...hopefully many more to come...

Submerge was a shoot she did recently with Sean Breithaupt + Yvette Monahan and used some of my dresses..
